Brothers and Sisters I was about to do a post on having one's calling and election made sure, but then the spirit prompted me that some of the experiences I have had are so special and sacred that sharing them online would be inappropriate.
I am thankful for the guidance of the spirit in my daily endeavors.
President Paternoster
Thank you for your inspiring words, President.
ReplyDeleteI wish more Latter-day Saints had followed this sacred principle, and kept their special experiences with the divine strictly to themselves instead of blazing them about (e.g. First Vision, etc.).

ReplyDeleteYeah & sticking to the same story instead of significantly changing it 9 times is good too (e.g. first vision)

ReplyDeleteDear Pres. Paternoster,
ReplyDeleteThank for taking valuable time from your calling and your work day to let us know you can't talk about it. This has been valuable information for me.
I know your heart is in the right place, and that we will all understand how true everything is when we finally reach this level, even though we already know it is true.

ReplyDeleteDid you say president that you were much more experienced than joseph smith? Because joseph smith said he was next to Christ. That must mean you are as good & as experienced as Christ, more so than joseph smith.
ReplyDeleteI want to meet you!!

ReplyDeleteI felt the Spirit when you wrote that.
ReplyDeleteGood one Will!

ReplyDeleteAs you have had your Calling and Election Made Sure, does this permit you to now live the Law of Celestial Marriage, as well? If so, I know of two lovely young ladies who would so very much like to meet you!

ReplyDeleteNow I know that indeed your Calling and Election has been made sure... for the Spirit just bore witness to mine that this is indeed what I should do. As soon as they are home from Jr. High School, I'll send them right over. I'm sure that as Joseph Smith preferred them that age, you most likely would, as well. That way, under your diligent tutelage in teaching them how to properly hold to the "iron" rod of your righteousness, they might that much sooner have their own Callings and Elections made sure.

ReplyDeletePresident, With all due respect, I think you should remove this whole subject from your blog. Even though you did not relate your actual experience, you have alluded to the fact that you have had your calling and election made sure and have cast pearls before swine, causing others to sin. No person who has received such a blessing would even allude to it, for that very reason. To do so serves only the purpose of boasting. I fell upon your blog because this is what my lesson is on this morning.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Smith
Ignore that previous poster, President. I think that it's more than appropriate to boast of your second anointing, if indeed you've had this. If anything, the fact that your feet are nice and squeaky clean courtesy of an Apostle in the One True Church should give you pause. No More Odor Eaters or Dr. Scholl's Foot Powder needed! Ever!
ReplyDeleteBoast it from the hilltops - You are a Chosen and Elect in the One True Church, and Your Election Has Been Made Sure!
Alleluia! Praise To the Man!
In the Name of Bonneville Communications. Amen.
A person's calling and election is made sure when Jesus Christ himself tells a person that they shall be exalted. After that a person with higher priesthood authority, I'm guessing a prophet, must give you a priesthood blessing by the laying of of hands. After the blessing, you will have living waters spring forth from within your heart. When these living waters spring forth, it is the same as tasting of the tree of life. And tasting of the tree of life and also the receiving of living waters is the same as coming to know with perfect knowledge the love of God. Knowing God in this way produces eternal life. No second endowment or anything of any other temple ordinances are necessary for this great blessing. It is a blessing that can be preformed anywhere at any given time. Now, you may not have shared it, but I have. :-) And that's because I feel prompted.
ReplyDeleteIn 2007 I was invited to take a tour in the Church Office Building. The tour was given by Michael Watson, whom then was Assistant to the First Presidency.
ReplyDeleteThe tour specifically focused on two rooms only. The meeting room of the Apostles, and the Presidents Office.
Elder Watson told the 15 of us that were invited about being hired as the Assistant.
He was interviewed by a few, then a general authority, then an apostle. He thought to himself "wow the Church is very thorough about who they hire." He then was asked to come to an interview with the President of the Church. This is what the President said in the interview as Elder Watson recalled the memory, and as I recall to the best of my memory...
"Brother Watson, you have gone through quite an interview process. Since who have made it this far, I will let you know that you are being interviewed to be the Assistant to the First Presidency. I trust those who have interviewed you, and their opinion about you, so I only have one question for you...
"CAN YOU KEEP YOUR DAMN MOUTH SHUT?"
I am grateful for E. Watson, telling us that story. I have learned much from his story.
E. Watson laughed as he told us Presidents question to him. He then taught us the principle of keeping sacred things sacred; he taught us that speaking by the Holy Ghost is the ONLY way to insure sacred experiences are kept sacred.
Sorry this is an inappropriate post. I agree with others that is should be removed because of what it alludes to. Pearls before swine.
ReplyDeleteI thought the stake president was very thoughtful and intelligent in sending out a balloon to see what the reaction would be. Obviously few of the readers were ready to hear the possibility that there might be a stake president who has received his CE. If a stake pres. can't be allowed to receive it, and to promote it, what does that say about those he leads? It is incredible to me that there is so little faith among those who read this blog, and such great condemnation towards someone who claims to have received that which the Church is designed to help all to receive. The day will come when those who are so critical will be in the minority and seeking one's calling and election will be freely admonished like temple attendance is now in the Church. I hope we all live to see that day!
ReplyDeleteAfter I get my calling and election made sure, I'm going to abuse the newfound confirmation and withdraw some of the equity I have earned in my moral savings account and just go nuts for the rest of my life. Then I'm gonna write about it on blogspot. I'm nearly there.
